Despite a slightly lower nominal speed, slower processor, the smallest memory, and the lowest price, effectively matching the speed of the ML-3712ND when viewing quality comparable impression. The ML-3312ND is physically identical to the ML-3712. White and brown, measuring 14.5 by 14.4 by 10 inches (HWD) and weighs 21 pounds, making it an easy fit for most offices. The front panel has a minimum of operation, with a 4-way controller with a central button, various function keys (ON mode, the start, and Eco), and a monochrome display in two lines. It comes standard with a tray of 250 sheets main tray and a versatile 50-sheet, and automatic duplexing. The printer can accommodate, optional tray additional 520 sheets for a total capacity of 820 sheets.

The ML-3312ND offers USB and Ethernet connectivity; we tested over an Ethernet connection with a networked PC with the Windows Vista operating system. One difference between the ML-3312ND and ML-3712ND is only the second machine supports Gigabit Ethernet.

Another difference is the monthly maximum duty cycle; ML-3312ND is 50,000 pages per month while the ML-3712ND is stronger at 80,000 pages.
